Blurb:

There’s only one thing I want to unwrap this year… my best friend’s roommate.

I’ve known Austin for years now, and crushed on him just as long.

He’s smart, funny, and hot enough to melt an ice cap.

I’d really like to stop fantasizing and finally visit his North Pole.

So tonight’s the night.

Charlotte and Austin are hosting the costumed Christmas party to end all costumed Christmas parties. Or perhaps the first to start the trend? Regardless, this is my chance to finally confess.

This year, I’m going to hang my stocking on Austin’s door… and hope it’s not just his heart I convince to grow three sizes bigger.

MY REVIEW

In this prequel, we find Chloe on the verge of telling Austin about her crush. She and recently become bestie, Charlotte, are at Austin's holiday party and they're "porching" so Charlotte can convince Chloe to go through with her confession to Austin. Charlotte knows now is the time for her to admit her feelings, because Austin won't remain single forever, and Chloe needs to put herself out there. But, in typical Chloe fashion, she's going back and forth on whether or not to confess, and her inner thoughts about why she wants to back out of agreeing to tell him, are funny as hell.

"Life would be easier if the powers-that-be assigned our life mate without giving us a say. Kind of like imprinting. It worked wonders for the wolves in Twilight, so I'm sure it's doable."

That line right there is classic Chloe, and why I loved her so much in her story, and why I love her even more here in hers and Austin's prequel.

The end of Tis the Reason is a bit sad, and gives the reader the perfect intro to the epic journey Chloe takes. The Dating Season series is, yes, a journey of Chloe and Austin's friends to lovers relationship, but more significantly, it's Chloe's journey from unsure young woman to a more confident, grown-up Chloe who figures herself out and knows she deserves the world, regardless of who the guy is that she picks to be her ride or die. I loved getting this little intro to her journey, and it makes me want to go read her whole story over again.

About Laurelin Paige
With millions of books sold worldwide, Laurelin Paige is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling Author. She is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however.

When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Killing Eve or Letterkenny, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She's also a proud member of Mensa International though she doesn't do anything with the organization except use it as material for her bio.

She is represented by Rebecca Friedman.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Review Blitz: The Challenge by Penelope Ward

Title: The Challenge: A Single Dad Romance Author: Penelope Ward Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance Tropes: Single Dad, Second Chance, Forced Proximity Friends to Lovers, Small Town, Found Family Release Date: August 30, 2026 BLURB From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward comes a new, STANDALONE contemporary romance… Nothing says welcome home like accidentally moving in with your first heartbreak…and his little girl. Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
