MY REVIEW

I originally read Snapdragon and Chrysalis back when they were released and fell in love with Michael and Darby.

Snapdragon: 4 stars
Two people meet. The attraction's there. But, someone always ends up wanting more, feeling more. And that is the conundrum, at least as far as both Michael and Darby can see it. So when they meet, neither wants the commitment, the strings, that an actual, real relationship brings. They want companionship and pleasure but not the feelings. So when they realize the other is of like mind, what else happens but an arrangement of no strings companionship. Yes, one of THOSE kind of arrangements. And everything is going along swimmingly because they're having fun, getting to know each other, actually finding they're becoming fast friends along with enjoying each other in bed.

Michael's everything, well almost, a woman could want in a good companion/friend - he's kind, he's thoughtful, he's hot, and a amazing lover. He's a tad controlling, but Darby can deal. After all, the rest of him is a dream. But, she (and he) know that this arrangement can, and will, end at any time with just one word spoken by either of them. SNAPDRAGON.

So when the ending was nigh and Darby walked into a home filled with...

This was me...

And now I'm anxiously waiting until I can read Chrysalis.

Chrysalis: 3 stars
I have to admit, unfortunately, that Chrysalis did not wow me as a conclusion to Darby and Michael's story. I liked it but it wasn't intense enough for me, and seemed to drag too much for my tastes. I am glad, however, they got their happily ever after, and I have warm feelings just thinking about it considering everything they went through to get there.

Vertical: 3.5 stars
Michael's friend (ahem *fixer*) Avi gets his own short story in Vertical. The woman he's always loved has just sent him a text with a codeword that lets him know she needs his help. Of course he'll help her, even if it means his heart will be even more worse for wear after seeing the woman who jilted him at the altar. Yep...

I admit to not liking Jasmine too much in this. I admired her passion and what she had passion for - taking down traffickers like the ones who did the same to her, but she was, self admittedly, a hot mess, and hurt Avi unnecessarily. I just couldn't connect with her. I did like the story, and can't wait for a more complete story for them.

Loaded: A Holiday Romance: 4 stars
Marsh is finally bringing his girlfriend to meet his family. Yikes. He hasn't told her much about them, but she's about to get a crash course in horrible, rich assholes who are incredibly racist, politically incorrect, and out of touch. Marsh will be lucky to keep her after this...

Jada is a badass woman, though, and conducts herself with class and sass. She just needs a minute to get past the fact that Marsh didn't tell her how awful his family is, AND that he's not exactly the working class stiff he portrays himself as.

Like Vertical, this one just made me want more of this couple and world. I can't wait to see what happens for them next.

Sleigh My Name: 3.5 stars
This is a quick bite showing how Michael gets a do-over of the horrible time he broke things off with Darby. It's short, sweet, and hot. Not exactly deep or anything, but sort of a fun epilogue to their story. I wish it had been longer, honestly, because these two are a great couple.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
