Blurb
I was a nanny in need of a job.
He was darkness personified.
I had little to call my own.
He was filthy rich, powerful, and dangerous.
The assignment was simple, and my goal was too.
Take care of his son. Keep my head down. When he least expects it, destroy him.
It should have been easy. I thought it would be until I looked into his stark blue eyes.
Kissing the enemy is a bad idea, but so is falling in love with him.
He doesn’t know my crumbling foundation is built on lies.
When he discovers the truth, I’ll find out if he’s as brutal as I believe.
I came here to steal his life.
I didn’t count on him stealing my heart.

MY REVIEW

Alessio needs a nanny. When an unassuming woman named Natalia applies for the position, she's the catalyst to flipping his world upside down. His is a dark, violent world and he's the debt collector, a man known for his cold, stoic personality. So why is one mere woman making him feel? And is Natalia really who she claims to be? Or is there an agenda hiding beneath her exterior?

I have long loved Ashleigh's dark worlds - her Boston Underworld series is one of my favorite series, EVER, and her heroes tend to the downright black morality areas of society, and her heroines tend to be complicated, layered women. I can safely say Anna is anything but unassuming as Alessio first thought - she's strong even though she's got loads of scars on her psyche, and she never gives up the fight, even down to the last minute. I can't tell you how much I love her. Alessio - oh damn, this guy - he reminds me of Ronan, the Irish mobster I love so much in Reaper, and that alone means I love him and his cold personality that was just begging for a little love to bring out his tender side. Yes, he's an anti-hero, yes he's not really a good man, but he is perfect for Natalia and I can only wish these two would have books and books more written about them.

Kingdom Fall is a dark, suspenseful installment of a world of secret societies, crime, and love, and I am waiting very anxiously for more when Angelo and Abella's (I hope) story is released.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Title: The Challenge: A Single Dad Romance Author: Penelope Ward Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance Tropes: Single Dad, Second Chance, Forced Proximity Friends to Lovers, Small Town, Found Family Release Date: August 30, 2026 BLURB From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward comes a new, STANDALONE contemporary romance… Nothing says welcome home like accidentally moving in with your first heartbreak…and his little girl. Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
