Review / Release Blitz: Maybe We Won't (Silver Harbor #3) by Melissa Foster

MAYBE WE WON’T

Releasing April 26, 2022

Blurb:
A sexy and soul-stirring novel about love, family, and rediscovering what matters most by Melissa Foster, the New York Times bestselling author of Maybe We Will.

When workaholic Boston attorney Deirdra de Messiéres is passed over for a well-deserved promotion, she takes a two-month hiatus to show her boss just how much he needs her and heads home to Silver Island. But beyond seeing her sisters happy, home is not where Deirdra’s heart is. She has no interest in their family restaurant, the Bistro, or reliving hurtful childhood memories, and absolutely no interest in spending a single second with Josiah “Jagger” Jones, the Bistro’s too-laid-back musician and chef. Sure, the hippie is hot, but he drives her nuts. The guy lives in a van with his dog, and he can’t even commit to a solid work schedule. To make matters worse, he’s always around. She needs to get off the island, stat.

Jagger has overcome his own personal trials to place stock in life’s pleasures: family, friends, peace…and if he has his way, one positively beautiful, absolutely uptight attorney. Jagger knows he’s the perfect person to help Deirdra deal with her hurtful past and find her way back to being happy.

A chance encounter leads to deep conversation, and night after liberating night, Deirdra lets down her guard. But neither is long for Silver Island. Free-spirited Jagger has wanderlust, and Deirdra has a career to return to. They’re on different paths, and plans for a future together don’t stand a chance. But when has anything gone according to plan?

The Silver Harbor series is published by Montlake Romance and will be available in paperback and audio formats at all book retailers, and exclusively in digital format for Kindle and Kindle apps. Download a free Kindle reading app here: http://bit.ly/FreeKindle_App1

MY REVIEW

Deirdra is finally taking some time off from her job as a workaholic lawyer. She's back in town on their small island after having been overlooked for a promotion, and she's fretting. Why? She's chafing at having to be away from the city, she's constantly having to be around too hot hippie (her word not mine) Jagger, and she hates being in the same spot that holds so many bad memories of her mother. But when she finds herself falling into Jagger's orbit, will the fact that their fling has an expiration date be enough to save her heart from breaking?

Jagger likes getting under Deirdra's skin a little too much. He can't seem to help it, it makes him incredibly aroused to see her eyes flashing irritation at him. Even negative attention from the uptight but beautiful lawyer makes him happy. He'd love to see her with her guards lowered, having fun with him. Will she ever let him into her heart, even just a little? Can he convince her to go with the flow and give into the feelings he knows are there underneath her put together exterior?

Just a bit of forewarning here - grab a box of tissues before reading, because you'll need it once Deirdra starts digging into her issues. I was incredibly proud of her as she worked through them, as she grew far more than I ever imagined she would. Her and Jagger's story is heartbreaking in places, humorous and sweet in places, and has a lot of heart and serious chemistry. The whole crew plus some others from different series are there, including Jagger's brother Gabe, whose character is written with sensitivity. I love this small island world Melissa has created, and cannot wait for the next Silver Harbor resident to fall in love.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
