MY REVIEW
Sydney will never forget the horrors she experienced in Africa, but she's determined to start a new life for her daughter and herself. She's near her mom, she's got a new job at the zoo, and she's already re-connected with her childhood friend, July (from Reynolds' Until July). She doesn't think her past will find her here, but if it does, she'll make sure to disappear before they can get to her. She had no way of knowing Tucker, obsessed alpha former Navy SEAL Tucker, would scale her defenses and burrow his way into hers and Mari's hearts and lives. Can she trust him with the secret she has only told a few people? Will her past come calling and take everything from her?
Tucker knows about the boom, but never expected it to happen to him. One look at a skittish redhead and suddenly that boom's got him right in the heart. He will just have to TRY to woo her gently because she's obviously got a lot of shadows in her eyes, put there by something he's not sure she'll ever reveal to him. When the time comes, will he be able to protect her from her past, or will he allow her strong defenses to push him away?
This is a great addition to the Happily Ever Alpha World. Sydney in particular, stood out with her strength and insistence on protecting everyone around her from her past. Tucker was the typical alpha male, but also very sweet and so very head over heels in love with the woman he was determined to claim. The Mayson clan was present and I loved their cameos, and a certain Sergeant and Sydney's friend also had me very interested in their story, I hope it's coming at some point.
