MY REVIEW

Mercedes has come a long way from her spoiled image in her brother Santi's story. Now she's matured, and has fallen for her captor, but she's fought it, knowing it's temporary, even if her feelings are not.

Judge is fighting his state, falling in love isn't something he does, and he can't countenance falling for someone he's really not supposed to touch. Santi trusted him with her care, not to make her his. But when it comes down to it, he'll take apart the world to find her, to protect her.

I never thought I'd say this, but I love Mercedes! She is so much more than I ever would have guessed when I first encountered her in Santi and Ivy's trilogy, The Society Trilogy. Here in her second installment, she and Judge are in an awkward phase where they're most definitely in deep with each other, but are both keeping secrets from each other, and neither wants to be in love. They have fought it, fought their feelings, but all that did was make them fall harder. Judge grew on me here as he softened, a tiny bit, as he was falling for Mercedes. Of course, there's a doozy of a cliffhanger, and now I'm anxiously awaiting Their Reign. I want to know how things work out for this couple who's already fighting to be together.
