Review / Release Blitz: The Enforcer (Lakeside University Hockey #1) by Avery Keelan

The Enforcer by Avery Keelan is now live!

Violet
Everyone on campus knows how hulking hockey enforcer Nash Richards demolishes his opponents on the ice, but he demolished my heart freshman year.
Now, he's my brand-new athletic training client—and he wants me back.
I can't afford to lose focus during my senior year, but one moment of weakness has me falling for Nash all over again. Unfortunately, he has secrets, and now they're my secrets, too. Ones that could cost us both everything.
Fraternizing between the trainers and athletes is strictly forbidden, but my heart doesn't care about the rules.

Nash
Violet Walsh is the one that got away... and I'm the one who pushed her to leave.
It was the biggest mistake of my life, and I've regretted it ever since.
Working together is the second chance I never thought I'd get. The magnetism between us is impossible to deny—and one kiss is all it takes to get Violet to admit it too.
She says getting involved now could cost us both our careers, but it's a risk I'm willing to take.
Two years ago, I lost the best thing that ever happened to me. And I'm not going to let it happen twice.

Author's note: The Enforcer is a steamy second chance college sports romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger.

MY REVIEW

Violet's worst nightmare has come true - she's been tasked to work with the men's hockey team now. The team her ex plays for. The ex who decimated her heart 3 years ago. She will have to remain professional, keep her defenses up, and maybe, just maybe, she'll get through her senior year and graduate without having her heart broken again by Lakeside's enforcer.

Nash may have broken Violet's heart before, but now that she's working with his team, he is not about to let her get away again. He'll have to bare his soul though, and give up the secrets he's been hiding from her. If he wants them to make it as a real couple, he'll have to admit the real reason he broke her heart before.

Second chance is one of my favorite tropes, but only if the person who broke the other's heart redeems him or herself. Nash redeems himself, but it was a hard road getting there. He had so many secrets, had so much pain, and his walls were as high as Violet's, for good reason, though. I felt so for him when his backstory was revealed. And I loved that Violet was his true rock, was there for him in a way no one had ever before. This is an emotional read, but well worth any empathy pains you might feel as you read as Violet and Nash get their second chance.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
