Evie may have let herself fall for the biggest asshole ever, her brother's best friend and agent, Caleb, but that was long ago. She's over it now and has made herself into an entrepreneur, running a successful nanny agency. But now her biggest, most demanding client has come to threaten her if she doesn't find him a new nanny, he'll make her pay. Unfortunately, guess who that client is? Yep... now Evie has to steel her heart, and her body's instincts, against the man who broke her heart all those years ago. She won't let him do it again, but somehow he's getting to her. Is the second chance Caleb wants actually going to happen?
Second chance stories are some of my favorite, but only if I feel as if both of the people in the couple deserve that second chance, as if he or she redeemed themself. Well, I don't think Caleb redeemed himself, but I like the story, I mostly liked Evie, and the angst was just enough to keep me interested. The ending felt a tad rushed, with the big twist coming too close to the end, though, so it made me just want a bit more of them in their future to give me that completed feeling. I will say that Caleb was a true alphahole, so if that's your thing, this is definitely the story for you. My personal tastes are an alpha who's less of an ass, so it kept this from being a 5 star read for me. The chemistry, the story, though, all good.
