MY REVIEW
The girl they called Doughy Zoe in high school is now a successful, popular sportscaster. Her knowledge of football is higher than a lot of players, she's sassy and smart, and she likes zinging a player in particular - Prescott, quarterback for the Baltimore Royals, who can't figure out why she singles him out so much. He'll get his chance to find out, though, when he has to give her an exclusive interview, in order to help him be more accessible to fans. And what he finds may affect more than just himself, like the most important person in his life, his son.
Prescott has come a long way since his high school days when football was so much his focus that he didn't allow anything else in his orbit. Now as an adult he has his son, who is more important than anything else. When he finds out Zoe has a bond and a way with his son, he knows he has to keep her in his life. That may be difficult, though, considering his history with Zoe. But if he can prove he's changed, grown, just maybe Zoe will forgive him and give him a chance to win her heart.
First off, I have to say how much I love Zoe. She's awesome, smart, funny, and has moved beyond the bullying the mean girls subjected her to in school. Prescott had truly changed from the guy he was then, but I wanted a bit more groveling to her for standing by back then and not doing anything about what they did to her. The other standout of this story, though, is Brent, Prescott's adorable, strong son. The three of them made a tight unit once they figured things out, and I loved reading. I'm looking forward to more Baltimore Royals love now.
