Ashlan's back home after graduating college. She should know what direction her life's headed, right? But so far all she knows is she was just offered a job as a nanny to a family friend's daughters. Their dad is a gorgeous firefighter, her dad's friend and coworker (her father is the firefighter chief), and he's a decade older than she. So she really shouldn't have uh unprofessional feelings for the man. No matter, she'll keep them to herself and try to view him as just her boss. Yeah...as if that's going to really work.

And it doesn't work because Jace is having those same feelings. Feelings he shouldn't because she's not only his daughters' nanny, she's a family friend, she's younger and in a different place in her life, and it will only complicate matters when his ridiculous ex-wife comes back and tries to take his daughters from him. But when he can't resist, finding himself in deep with her, he finds love even if he wasn't looking for it.

Sometimes age gap romances are hard for me to connect to, but I didn't have that problem with Ashlan and Jace. They have amazing chemistry, and since they were already friends, they had a familiarity and ease with each other that strangers wouldn't have. Individually and as a couple, Ashlan and Jace are amazing characters - they both have these big, loving hearts, and though they fought their feelings, they honestly weren't ever going to be able to resist each other.
