Taylor and Drake had a brief but significant moment years ago, but it ended in less than ideal circumstances. She's spent the time since becoming a truly amazing spy now working on a critical op. She's got vengeance in mind, she's gunning for the people who killed her father, himself a legendary spy. Then who finagles his way onto her op, but the man who broke her heart all those years ago? She faces a choice to either walk away from the op she's created, or to stick around and work with the man who betrayed her.
Drake has spent all this time thinking Taylor was a traitor. Now that he knows differently, he's determined to have a second chance with her. He knows he's really blown it with her, and that's she's more than angry, she wants revenge for her father's death. He can help her get what she wants, and get his second chance with the only woman he's had feelings for in years. Will she ever let him back in? Or keep a tight lid on the heart he wants?
Fast-paced spy romance with a great couple. It's what I've come to expect from this series and the one it's spun off from, and that's exactly what Taylor and Drake gave me. Though they fell very quickly, the feelings were obviously very strong considering how they felt even years later. Taylor made Drake work his ass off for forgiveness, he gave very good grovel! The heat between them is delicious (hello Dom Drake!) and the suspense is just as intriguing as the relationship. There's also a very appealing epilogue that gives a glimpse of an upcoming series perhaps, that I'm already anxiously waiting for more of.
