When Juniper has a run-in with a grumpy Lee, she never imagines that same grump will end up becoming her harbor, the one man to make her feel safe. But she has a secret shared only with her brother, and that secret may be the main obstacle to the happiness she's found with Lee. Is it something she can bring herself to share with him, or will it become moot when he assumes and shatters her heart?

Lee doesn't think he's worthy of love. He feels love for his family, but he doesn't think he will ever find it for himself. So when a ray of sunshine accidentally dumps his breakfast on him, and he's drawn to her, he fights the feelings. But will he fight them so much that he makes an ass out of himself with his very inaccurate assumptions about her?

My heart hurt for these two. For Juniper and the reason for her secret. For Lee and what caused him to close himself off. But the way they found love and healing with each other was pretty beautiful. Grumpy/sunshine, animals!, heartbreaking secrets, and intense chemistry all combine to make a wonderfully told love story.
