A sweet, lighthearted romantic comedy from USA Today bestselling author Pippa Grant about one social media influencer’s dream of going off the grid and the IRL love she finds along the way.
Secrets always catch up with you. The world knows me as Tavi Lightly, sugar-free social media influencer. But my true purpose lies in secretly restoring a cacao farm in Costa Rica. Unfortunately, to save the farm, I need access to the trust fund that my grandmother has frozen. She’s requiring me to do charity work in Tickled Pink, Wisconsin, and until I meet her ultimatum—no trust fund. So to Tickled Pink I go.
My first grandmother-approved charity project? Helping local reformed bad boy Dylan Wright. He has secrets too, like how he’s hung up on his married best friend. Kick-starting his dating life is as easy as making him famous through association with me. Not so easy is the fact that we’re falling for each other. He belongs in Tickled Pink, and I belong on my farm. We might share our secrets with one another, but can we really share our lives too?
MY REVIEW
Tavi Lightly is a vegan heiress influencer whose social media presence contains not an ounce of the real her. In order to fund her real passion, a cacao farm she is trying to save in Costa Rica, she has to come to this small town and try to save it so her awful grandmother won't cut off her access to her trust fund. Meeting Dylan, the town's local plumber and reformed bad boy, should be just the project to help her end goal. But what happens when she and Dylan find that neither is as they appear? He's not a jerk any longer. And he really isn't pining over his unattainable friend any longer. And she? Well, she's a beautiful soul in disguise, and Dylan's just the man to help her realize it. If she can truly open herself up to him.
At turns lighthearted and emotionally heavy, Tavi and Dylan's story is the kind of story I always depend on, and look forward to, from Pippa. Tavi is such a great heroine, slightly damaged but such a compassionate, loving person inside. Dylan couldn't have been more perfect for her with his own demons, a past he's ashamed of but has worked hard to overcome. There are some surprises near the end from someone I really didn't expect to come around, the villains are definitely the villains, and in the end Tavi and Dylan and their love prevail in this heartfelt, witty, and lightly spicy story. Tickled Pink is a town I'd love to visit someday if the couples are all like Tavi and Dylan and Phoebe and Teague (The One Who Loves You).
