Willow's been hearing a voice in her head for awhile when she's dropped, literally, into a world quite unlike her own. In this world of magic and violence, she will find THE man that voice belongs to, Caz, and nothing will ever be the same for her, or for him. She has to contend with the tether they have to each other. Is it something she should embrace? Or something that will ultimately be their downfall?
Caz has for so long not liked to be touched. Then a woman is thrown into his path, into his world, that he can't ignore, can't help but crave like no one, like nothing, that came before her. She's his tether, but will their bond be the thing that saves him, them, or the thing that breaks them?
Whew, this romantic fantasy is fire! It's a different kind of story for Shanora, with its fantastical elements, but there's also familiar and loved parts that are signature Shanora. The crazy chemistry, storyline that never falters, and at its center, a couple that I fell in love with. Caz, like some of Shanora's other heroes that I love (I'm looking at you, Theo!) is a bit (a lot) tortured and alpha, but so lovable that he broke my heart. Sassy Willow came along and their bond was on its way to healing them both, them bam that cliffhanger happened. Now I really don't think I can wait until November for more Caz and Willow.
