Blurb
Looking to rent a pussy.

Say what?

I’d never seen an ad phrased quite like that before. Not only did it raise my eyebrows, but the late night attention it drew dangerously exceeded our kitten rescue’s bandwidth.

So I did my admin duty and sent the ad writer a warning message.

I didn’t have to send her personal messages.

Or have flirty chats on the phone.

I especially didn’t need to go to her place for late night…kitten calls.

I soon realized she might be exactly who I needed to get my matchmaking family off my back, if she would just attend an important event with me.

She told me over and over she wasn’t girlfriend material—fake or otherwise.

I didn’t listen.

And now I’m ready to put it all on the line to make sure my Kitty understands that our love is very real.

Let the fur fly.

MY REVIEW

When overworked veterinarian, Clint, responds to an ad placed on his kitten rescue's page, he never imagines that the woman behind that ad would end up being the one to change his life. He never imagines how fast and hard he'd fall for his Kitty, and that he'd need to convince her he was all in, and had been the first time he laid eyes on her.

Since her beloved cat passed, Katherine has barricaded herself and her heart in her apartment, rarely venturing out. The depression and grief she suffered have made it difficult for her to go outside. So looking for companionship for her remaining cat means she has to resort to finding a new cat for playdates online. Fortunately for her, the man who responds to her ad is a gorgeous, sweet, (and very delicious) vet who gets in one meeting that she's got things she's working on. How will she respond to him when he tells her he wants a fake (not) date to get his family off his back?

These small towns that Taryn and Cari dream up are so awesome! Miles better than the small town I grew up in, and with every story set in them, I want to go there and befriend each of the residents. Clint and Katherine (Kitty) are such an adorable couple who each have individual depth, emotionally and mentally. I love the way their issues are detailed, with a loving but not heavy, hand, and how it was inevitable that they'd end up together, from their very first words to each other. There's fiery chemistry, feisty felines, a yummy vet, a sassy editor, and an equally adorable secondary cast.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
