Britt and Aiden's families don't have the easiest history. Now she's back in town, summoned by her family, and she's having a hard time with the grumpy single dad. Thank God his adorable son seems to love her dog, because Aiden sure isn't looking thrilled to have her around for any other reason. I guess accidentally almost running him over might have something to do with it though...
Aiden shouldn't let Britt get under his skin. She's assisting him in this investigation, her family is all about the magic, something he doesn't believe in, and he simply can't have her, no matter how much he wants her, has for a long time. He also has his son to think about, even though Owen adores her and her dog. But her sunshine is like the balm to the ice of his soul, and they just can't resist any longer. Will he stick by her when she hurts him though? Or ice up again?
This isn't your run of the mill grumpy/sunshine. It's not even standard issue small town romance. The tension, the slightly forbidden aspect, plus a central mystery give Britt and Aiden's story that something extra. They're delicious together as they try to resist giving in. And when his walls finally come down enough to let her in, I cheered them on hard because as cold as he seems, and as warm as she is, there are layers of emotional substance to both of them, and I could just feel their connection the longer they were near each other. Tia never, ever disappoints, this time she's set the bar extra high!
