MY REVIEW

Layla's not at this conference to have fun. But when she sees an absolutely gorgeous older guy, she's suddenly thinking less about networking and more about handing over her v-card to him. This one night is to be one night only though, nothing can ever come of it because they live in different countries. But what happens when she does see him again? When her ex boyfriend who's still her friend, introduces her to his dad? His gorgeous dad that Layla knows intimately...

Nick never told Layla he had a son that he adored, one who was closer to her age than to his own. So imagine his surprise when he's introduced to his son's friend/ex, and she's the beautiful younger woman with whom he had a night he hasn't been able to forget. Now they're working in close proximity helping his son with his fundraiser, and Nick's finding it increasingly impossible to resist her. Now he has to decide if they tell David, or hope to God they can keep it all a secret.

Oh boy but I think I just found my new favorite couple of Lauren's! Layla is so impressive, young though she is, she's smart, strong, and seriously hardworking with a fabulous circle of support in her friends. She knows what (and who) she wants and doesn't play games. Nick is her perfect match, the man perfect for her and to her. He's delicious in and out of the bedroom, but he's also tender, patient, and supportive. I'm the first to say I normally don't like age gap stories, especially with the gap so large (15 years?) but it works so well here because she's mature for her age, and though Nick is older, he's not condescending or dismissive the way older men are often portrayed. Their chemistry is positively fire, and their emotional connection is equal to and becomes even greater than their physical one. I love this forbidden age gap love story - definitely one of Lauren's best.
