Dare has had a crush forever on the one woman he shouldn't - Liza, the sister of the man he hates and he has to keep arresting. Whenever she comes into his police station to bail her brother out, AGAIN, he gives her shit about it. Safe to say his crush is one sided. Right? Or perhaps not because Liza's long had feelings for Dare too, but of course has never done anything about it considering she knows what he thinks of her and how she keeps enabling her brother. But when she's in danger thanks to said brother, Dare's the only one who steps up and protects her. If they can each work past their baggage, they could have something special.
This installment of the Serendipity series is frustrating! Dare and Liza both had so much baggage, especially Dare, that they could not see past it. Liza, that poor woman, all she did was work and try to help her brother, so much so that she just enabled his bad behavior. And it frustrated Dare. Of course, what he didn't understand was her motivation, which was heartbreaking. I wanted to cry for her and just give her a big hug for all that she had gone through. There's a lot of back and forth between the two, but serious chemistry, and a rollercoaster of emotions.
