Review / Release Blitz: Pretend To Love You (The Donnellys of Dogwood Cove #3) by Julia Jarrett

My future is with her.

Pretend To Love You, an all-new fake-relationship grumpy-sunshine small town standalone romance in The Donnellys of Dogwood Cove from bestselling author Julia Jarrett is available now!

My all-star hockey career is over. All because of a busted leg from one too many hits into the boards. Coming home to Dogwood Cove to heal and figure out my next steps feels like the best option I’ve got.

Then somehow the first step I take is to wind up in a fake relationship with my physical therapist, who also happens to be my little sister’s best friend.

It starts out simple enough. Lily needs a date to a family wedding, one that promises to be more torture than celebration. Now, thanks to an overbooked hotel with only one bed, two gossiping bridesmaids, and a three minute slow dance… the entire town, including our families, thinks we’re dating.

To save face we decide to keep the ruse going.

There’s just one problem: What I’m feeling for Lily is anything but pretend.

Falling for her wasn’t part of the plan, but she’s a ray of light that pierces through the dark clouds surrounding me.

She thinks my future is still in hockey, but I know differently.

My future is with her.

MY REVIEW

Jude's injury has effectively ended his hockey career and now he's back in his small hometown to rehab and figure out how to live life without hockey. When his new PT turns out to be local girl and his sister's best friend, Lily, her sunshine grabs a hold of him and never lets go. Now they've somehow landed themselves in a fake relationship situation and both of them are finding just how quickly fake can turn seriously real. Can this grump find love with a ray of sunshine who hides a lot of pain beneath her warmth?

Oh these two! I wanted to wrap them both in a big hug and tell them how wonderful they were. Jude is such a lovable grump, so depressed and adrift now that his career was almost certainly over. And then Lily...such a beautiful soul who just saw him hurting and wanted to heal him, both physically and emotionally, and she was hiding her own pain and still wanted to just love him and heal him. Her family is the absolute worst, but thankfully Jude came along with his grumpiness and saw the real her and fell hard for her and helped her stand up to them and break free from their horrible treatment of her. I adore this couple, adore their story, and cannot wait for more Donnellys and more of their small town.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
