Blog Tour: The Coldest Passion by Victoria Lum

He’s everything cold. She’s my darkest obsession.

The Coldest Passion, an all-new single dad, nanny, forced-proximity romance from Victoria Lum is available now!

He’s everything cold.
She’s my darkest obsession.

Liz
I never thought I’d fall in love with Parker, my brother’s best friend.
He’s a damaged man and now I’m his daughter’s nanny for the summer.
He’s grumpy and hates me but I have no idea why.
I've always wanted a fairytale happily-ever-after with my prince charming
And prince charming he is not.
But with every inadvertent brush of our bodies and intense stares, I wonder what it would be like to have Parker’s hands on me.
I wonder if this tortured, imperfect man is actually the prince in my story.

Parker
I lost everything when my wife died.
I’m angry with the world, but mostly at myself.
All I have is my work and my daughter.
And a nanny, who is also my best friend’s sister.
Liz is full of light and joy—everything I’m not, everything I don’t deserve.
I know I shouldn’t touch her. I have blood on my hands.
Seeing her every single day, the temptation keeps getting stronger, but I’m keeping a secret she would never forgive me for.
If she ever finds out, I’ll lose her forever.

“But then, how are babies made? Can you let me know? I’m very curious.” A small crowd has gathered now, and the voice which has just spoken is Lucy, Parker’s very adorable daughter.

That man irks me in a way no man ever has before. I’d like to believe I’m an easy person to get along with. My friends always gush about how thoughtful and sweet I am. But this man, for some inexplicable reason, has hated me since the moment he met me last year. I still remember the day as if it occurred yesterday.

Jess and her sister, Emily, met me at a Greek restaurant for a girls ’lunch and Parker ran into us. He was the first person Jess swiped right on when she joined InstaConnect before she and James finally got together. He was the most drop-dead gorgeous man I had ever seen, at least, from his online profile, but nothing could’ve prepared me for seeing him up close in person. The thick head of golden-brown hair, with streaks of blond, like he spent time in the salon, but is most likely a result of excellent genetics. The piercing green eyes, mysterious, and always seeming like they’re holding secrets. The strong jaw, reminiscent of the Greek sculptures in museums. Those dimples, which he uses to his best advantage. The imposing, tall figure. Those corded muscles flexing with every movement he makes.

“Hi! I’m Liz, Jess’s friend in every sense of the word.” I grin, staring at the gorgeous man in front of me, a bit nervous for some unknown reason. I extend my hand toward him.

Parker looks away from the other girls. “Liz, nice to meet—”

His expression freezes as he clasps my hand in his, his emerald eyes darkening in something akin to shock as unidentified emotions flash in his gaze. A muscle twitches in his cheek as he swallows, his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down his muscular neck.

I freeze, my smile slipping under the intensity of his stare. Parker squeezes my hand tighter. I wince. “Ouch. You have a strong grip there.”

Parker snaps out of his trance and drops my hand as if he has touched molten lava. He tugs at his collar as a dark flush creeps up his neck.

“Sorry about that,” he replies, clearly flustered.

He drags his hands through his thick hair, his eyes darting away but quickly returning to me. He shifts his body as if uncomfortable. He turns to Jess. “It’s great seeing you, Jess. I’m sure we’ll talk soon.” Parker’s eyes flicker to me again, intense emotions brimming in his gaze. Then he promptly turns away and strides out of the restaurant.

If that isn’t dislike at first sight, I don’t know what is. It’s like I contracted the plague and he refused to come within ten feet of me. Despite him being best friends with my brother, he’s made every effort to avoid joint events when I’m present. Or in the unfortunate circumstance when we have to be at the same place at the same time, like Jess’s and James’s wedding, he’ll pretend I don’t exist.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
