MY REVIEW

Tony's never gotten over the girl from that summer all those years ago. Though she dumped him, he has not been able to find anyone to compare to Mak (Makenzie). Oh, he's tried many times, married and divorced more than once, and even 2 more engagements. But none of those women compare to the girl from that summer in Paris. But now he sees her in a club in Vegas and it's as if time has stood still. This time there's no way he's letting her get away again, regardless of the bet he just waged with his friends that he won't date anyone for a year. This serial monogamist has his first (only) love back in his orbit and she's staying put!

Makenzie's been keeping a rather big secret from not just Tony but nearly all the people in her life. These days the wild child from before is gone, and in her place is a hard-working re-entry college student in med school. When the guy from all those years appears in her life again, she has to decide if she can let him in on her big secret, and into her heart.

I love second chances, especially if the two deserve that second chance, if they have become the person their soulmate deserves. Mak in particular has grown into an amazing woman, has completely redeemed herself. I love that she hasn't changed her inner heart, but has indeed worked to overcome her past, has matured, and isn't that irresponsible liar any longer. Tony is still that sweetheart just looking for his forever, thankfully she came back into his life and completed it. Their chemistry is positively incendiary, their snarky, witty banter is fun and their crew is one I'm really interested in reading in the future.

I used to create dreams with my best friend growing up. We'd each pick a boy we liked, then we'd write down a meet-cute that always ended with a happily ever after. Now I get to dream every day, although it's a little steamier now.

I'm a Chicago-based writer, married to a writer, mother of a creative dynamo of a twelve-year-old boy and currently a little sleepy. I'm a klutz and goofball and love lipstick as much as my Chuck Taylors. And there are pretty good odds that I have either a glass of wine or a cup of coffee in my hand right now.
