I swear I’m a good girl.

I didn’t go to the exclusive, after-hours masquerade to kiss my dad’s best friend. I didn’t even know who the masked man was when he touched me like I was his every fantasy.

But when I learn exactly how off-limits my new lover is, I do my best to avoid him the next time. Except, he has his sinful sights set on me, even when he discovers who I am. Just one time, he whispers. Then we’ll pretend this never happened.

Seems the enigmatic, gorgeous single dad I’ve known by day is a very dirty man after dark.

But one night turns into a stolen weekend, giving me a taste of so much more. When it ends, we vow to stay apart.

We could never work.

He’s focused on raising his young son, and I can’t let my already damaged family break more. But the caring, possessive man keeps coming back to me, and these secret nights tangled up together are turning into tender moments that make my heart thunder.

And soon, this tease of a forbidden romance is making me want so much more than I can ever have…

MY REVIEW

Jules let herself have one night to explore her desires and now she wants more. But when she finds the real identity of her masked man, she knows she can't do this, not when it would upset her (and Finn's) whole world. But their attraction to each other isn't to be denied and now their tryst is more, feelings are happening even though there's an inevitable end to them.

Finn's life has changed drastically. He's divorced now and has transitioned into a single new father. He hasn't really let himself have fun since, but tonight that's going to change. One look at the beauty at the piano and he's hooked. Too bad she turns out to be forbidden in every way - too young, too inexperienced, and has ties with someone who's really important to him. He can't let himself have her, can he?

There are layers to this story. It's not just hot and steamy, the emotional connection Jules and Finn share, though heightened by the forbidden, is strong from the beginning and only gains strength the longer they're together. Jules in particular is a carrying baggage, baggage she slowly works at unloading, with Finn's help. And Finn - holy hell he's swoony! Sweet and dominant by turns, down and delicious always. This couple is fabulous, especially when they finally allow themselves to fall.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It
