Review / Release Blitz: Fury (Fury Brothers #1) by Anna Hackett

Release Date: September 7

I’m not looking for a hero, and definitely not a fake relationship with my new boss, nightclub owner Dante Fury—over six feet of dark, hot, and dangerous.

But he isn’t taking no for an answer.

The plan was to run, live under the radar, survive. My life’s been destroyed by some very bad people and everything I know is gone—career, friends, family. I thought I could hide as a bartender at New Orleans’ hottest new club, Ember.

I can’t trust anyone, but after I’m attacked, Dante is determined to play protector by claiming me as his. No one would dare touch the woman of one of the Fury brothers. Suddenly, I’m living at his place, and he’s touching me, kissing me, taking care of me…

Dante makes it very hard to remember this relationship isn’t real. He makes my heart race, but he’s way out of my league, and he’s protecting his own broken pieces.

Nothing this fake should feel this right.

The bad guys won’t give up, but I’m starting to think the biggest danger to me is Dante Fury.

The Fury Brothers: fierce, loyal, and live by their own code
Five men who grew up in foster care and became brothers by choice. They vow to always have each other’s back: no questions, no doubts, no hesitation. They protect their own…always.

MY REVIEW

Dante knows Mila is running from someone or something, and he wants to help. That's what he does - help, protect, his part of the world. Mila works for him, so that means she's under his protection. But to take it a step further, he proposes a fake relationship to really make it clear to those that are trying to hurt her, that no one dare mess with her or they'll have to contend with him and his brothers.

Mila knows she can only trust herself if she wants to continue surviving, but Dante only wants to help her so perhaps she can go along with his idea. Having a fake relationship with the man she's extremely attracted to is having an unwelcome effect on her though - she's starting to trust him, starting to fall in love with him. She doesn't dare tell him, though, because that's only asking for heartbreak.

This is a great start to a new series. Dante, like the Norcross and Sentinel men before him, is alpha and protective of those he loves. He and Mila start off fake but inevitably develop strong feelings. Reading as Mila started to trust, and fall in love with, Dante as he and his brothers welcomed her with strong arms, is exactly why I love Anna's writing so much - suspense and action woven seamlessly with a couple with intense chemistry. I'm going to really enjoy reading as all the Fury brothers fall in love!

Meet Anna Hackett
I’m a USA Today bestselling romance author who’s passionate about fast-paced, emotion-filled romantic suspense and science-fiction romance. I love writing about people overcoming unbeatable odds and achieving seemingly impossible goals. I like to believe it’s possible for all of us to do the same.

My parents are to blame for my insatiable need to mix action, adventure, and romance. When I was young, I raided my mother’s romances and my father’s action adventure thrillers. I love being exhilarated and left just a little breathless. I’m a sucker for that moment when the team is walking in slow motion, shoulder-to-shoulder heading off into battle.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
