Lydia needs help rescuing her sister from the same cult she herself escaped from. But the person who she goes to for help, she never imagined he would turn out to be her brother's former friend, Christian. Christian used to protect her all the time when they were younger. But she was told he left to become a preacher. She now knows that was just another lie they told everyone. What she also knows is that Christian is as protective now, if not more, and will do everything in his power to keep protecting her, and her sister. All the close proximity is having her once crush take flight and develop into something much stronger. If she can bring her heart to trust, she and Christian can have something she never could have seen herself having - happiness, love, and security.
Lydia is all grown, looking incredibly beautiful, and desperately in need of help, and Christian's already OTT protective instincts have just gone into overdrive. He's never forgotten Lydia and now that she's back in his life, he's determined to keep her, to protect her, to love her. He and his found family do this protect and save thing together, and now it's personal. If it's the last thing Christian does, he will rescue Lydia's sister and prove to Lydia that her heart is safe in his hands.
Whew, what a way to start a new series! Christian and his brothers and the women they love have populated this new series and I'm really impatient to get all their stories. But honestly Lydia is my favorite part of this story. She went through hell but she came out of it not just a survivor, but someone with incredible strength and though she was appropriately wary, her loving heart was just waiting for someone to come along and show her what true love and care is all about. Christian is perfect for her with his protective, patient nature. Their chemistry is fire and the way Christian teaches her and shows her to ask for what she wants - whew! Christian and his good girl have me really excited for Tate and Piper's story next now - Tell Me No Lies.
