Pippa's had her eye on the space next to her bakery, Wake and Bake, so she can someday expand, when it's bought out from under her. And when she finds out who bought it?! Whoo boy but she's not happy. The arrogant ass she's already had run-ins with, the one who calls her shortcake. Yep, Camden, the jerk who's hot but yeah, a jerk.
Camden came to this small town to open his gallery and make even more money for his bank account. He doesn't give a rat's ass about the town itself, the artists that live and work there, or any of the other residents. But when he needs help and he asks the spitfire who owns the bakery next door, she demands he let her show him the value of Sutten Mountain in exchange. And so is born their morphing relationship. His heart and soul are softening, both to her and to this small town, with every word of snark she throws at him, he's falling harder for his shortcake. This billionaire is about to get schooled by the good country girl, and he's loving every second of it.
Now this is how you do enemies to lovers! Pippa and Camden truly start off on a bad foot, and the whole way through their snarky banter got funnier and sharper and more perfect. But the deepening feelings behind all the snark are what make this enemies to lovers couple so amazing. He falls so hard, he falls first, and the way he cares for her and protects her, I was tearing up a bit while swooning all over the place. Not to mention the hotter than hot chemistry and the dirty talk - whew! Pippa is amazing, has that backbone I wish all heroines had, and never fails to put Camden in his place. Sutten Mountain is awesome, I want to live there now 💖.
