Review / Release Blitz: A Peak Performance (The Riggs Family Romance Series) by Victoria Wilder

Release Date: September 29

Beautiful. Infuriating. Enemy.

I’m not the hero. I’m the fun one. The easygoing, youngest Riggs brother who makes people laugh. I’m a good time. Men want to be me. Women just want me.

Except one.
My new boss.
My neighbor.
My competition.
And now, the woman I’ve just publicly claimed to love.

Contessa Costa crashed into my small town and took the job at my family’s company. One that’s supposed to be mine.

She’s not the kind of woman who needs rescuing, but when I witnessed the way our biggest competitor, and her ex-husband, talked to her and then touched her, I didn’t have another choice.

Now I’m stuck trying to keep up appearances of this “relationship” for a marketing campaign that might be a career-ending gamble. And to prove to my father that I’m the committed and capable choice for CEO. But our lies are starting to feel better than our truth.

Now I’m trying to decide if what I want is worth fighting for or if I’d rather just be fighting with her. How do you outsmart your enemy when you’ve stupidly fallen in love with her?

MY REVIEW

Contessa's really hit rock bottom when she's approached by a competitor with a proposal that will change her life if she takes him up on it. Now she's here in town and taking over the position of CEO of her family's business rival outdoors company. It should be just what she needs to start over, to be the person she can and should be, but the youngest brother is in her way. They can't stand each other and the snark is real between them. But so is the insane chemistry. When Law steps in after her ridiculous ex treats her badly, that chemistry ignites. Now they're sneaking around and falling for each other when they know they shouldn't.

Law thought becoming the CEO of his family was the most important thing he'd ever have in his life. Then Tessa comes along and turns everything on its head. Suddenly he's sneaking around with her, falling in love with her, and possibly realizing there are far more important things than being the big boss. But these two nemeses need to tell the real boss, Law's father, what's going on, if they're to ever make this work. How will Asher react?

Enemies to lovers, workplace romance - two of my favorite tropes! The snark, the tension, the forbiddenness, and the female being the boss - all done perfectly. Law and Tessa are the perfect example of why enemies to lovers is probably my favorite of all romance tropes. They have the chemistry, the witty dialogue, the antagonism, and the falling head over heels while trying to fight it. The Riggs Family is awesome, now I'm eagerly waiting for more of them.

Meet Victoria Wilder
Forever a hopeful romantic, author Victoria Wilder writes contemporary romance with deliciously witty and wild characters. Her stories range from small-town swoon-worthy men to fiercely powerful families and lead characters who aren't afraid to ask for what they want.

She's an east coast girl, always chasing the next season and living it up with her husband, two kiddos, and dog, Linus. When she's not reading or writing, you'll find her training at a kickboxing class or finding an excuse to sink her feet in the sand at the beach.

She believes in the power of a great story. That words have the ability to change the trajectory of your life. And that a new pair of sneakers can be just as powerful as heels to put you in the right mood.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
