Review / Release Blitz: Dump and Chase (Kodiaks Hockey #1) by Anna Albo

Dump and Chase by Anna Albo is now live!

Playing games on and off the ice...

Tangi Kildare has no regrets. Not about falling for sweet, serious, sexy Ethan Grant. Not about giving up college and moving to a different country to support his pro hockey career. And definitely not about breaking up with him—she wasted half her twenties on his commitment phobia.

But sleeping with him three years later? That might be a regret. Especially when she discovers the consequences...

Ethan's world is turned upside-down when she tells him she's pregnant, but he's sure of one thing: he's going to be part of his baby's life. The best way to achieve that is to have Tangi close by. Step one: getting her a job as the Ravens' physiotherapist, the Kodiaks' farm team that just happens to play in the same town—what's the point of being the Kodiaks' star center if he can't pull a few strings?

Tangi will work for the Kodiaks' farm team and make plans to co-parent, but that's all she wants from Ethan. She's got her college degree, her career...and a close new friendship with one of Ethan's teammates. The more time Ethan spends with her, the more he knows it's not just the baby he wants in his life. He's always regretted letting Tangi go, and now he has to find a way to win her back for good...before it's too late.

MY REVIEW

Tangi never intended on this for her life. But here she is, pregnant by the ex she dumped years ago because he wouldn't commit. She can raise this baby by herself, probably should considering Ethan always said he never wanted kids, but for some reason he insists on being present in her life and their soon to come child's. But she'll need to stay strong and remember that Ethan isn't the man for her, her heart can't take another break from him, commitment phobe that he is.

I love it when a heroine doesn't simper and give into the hero right away, makes him work for his chance at her heart. Tangi is a great character - strong, independent and not at all a doormat for Ethan. In fact, she's the best part of the story. I wish she had been paired with an equally strong guy, alas, she got...Ethan. I never connected with his character, nor do I think he deserves a second chance. His redemption didn't ring true for me, and he's the reason I can't rate this higher. But because Tangi is amazing, I can safely give it 3.5 stars.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
