Lexi has life problems. Her grandma is about to sell the family ski lodge. She's also on her to marry herself up, so has set her up on a blind date with her dentist. Who isn't over his ex and tells Lexi this, then bails on the date. Yep. But when a gorgeous guy comes along, he saves her night. Too bad he turns out to be the jerk working for the company trying to tear down her family's ski lodge. But if she marries him, she can save it. He's the perfect person to marry - she'll never let her heart get involved with someone she can't stand, right?


Devlin doesn't like to be still. He's scared of love, and doesn't do relationships. So why did he just agree to a marriage of convenience with a woman he hasn't been able to get out of his mind for months? Well, he'll abide by their rules for this marriage, help her save her company, then move on with his heart still intact and no pain for either of them. No big deal...


I wasn't sure if Melanie could top Austin and Veronica (Runaway Love) and Xander and Kelly (Hideaway Heart), but I think she just may have with Lexi and Devlin. Their seriously yummy physical connection, their sassy, snarky and witty banter, and the deepening with every page emotional connection - swoon! These two were meant to be from the first time he appeared at her side after her date bailed. They had to go through a lot to get to love, but getting there is so much fun! I love the way he found so many ways of calling her "wife" in that delicious tone, it was so obvious he had feelings he was refusing to put a voice to. And Lexi is more than Devlin's equal - she's sassy and sweet, with a huge heart that had been broken too many times. I felt for her so much, but in the end she got the guy, the company, and her adorable, meddling grandma, so she wins it all.

If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length.
