Review / Release Blitz: Just a Little Promise (Dare Crossover #3) by Carly Phillips & Erika Wilde

JUST A LITTLE PROMISE
Carly Phillips & Erika Wilde
Release Date: January 23

He’s the one she’s never forgotten.

She’s the one he regrets letting go.

Now they have a second chance to get it right.

When Skye Tremont runs into her sexy former flame, Tripp Daniels, she’s reminded of the baby pact they’d made years ago. . . If she was single and childless by the age of thirty, he’d step in and be her baby daddy and fulfill her dream of having a child.

Now, after a bitter divorce that has left her guarding her heart, and wanting only one thing, Skye is ready to take Tripp up on his promise. When he’s one of the bachelors up for bid at a charity auction, it’s the perfect opportunity to have him all to herself for a weekend of baby making fun, as long as he agrees to her terms.

Tripp is on board to fulfill the promise he made to Skye. If he’s going to have a baby with anyone, it’s going to be the one woman he’d foolishly let slip through his fingers. But not this time because he’s all in. Skye is even more beautiful than he remembers, and the chemistry between them is hotter than ever, but while she gives him free reign with her body, she’s made it clear her heart is off limits.

Now, with a second chance within his grasp, Tripp is prepared to do whatever it takes to win the woman he loves and give them both the family they’ve always craved.

MY REVIEW

Skye's trying to move on from her marriage, which was a horrible one. Now she's finally single, and her clock is ticking. She had a pact with her former fwb that if she was childless at 30, the two would have a baby together. But seeing as Tripp's not in the picture now, she'll just have to find someone else to give her that baby. Then she runs into Tripp and suddenly it's looking like that pact might actually come to fruition. But only if Tripp can get past Skye's walls and into the heart she's put on ice.

Back when he and Skye had their casual thing, Tripp knew he couldn't offer her what she wanted, deserved - a commitment, even that white picket fence and all that jazz. He was focused on his pediatric surgery residency and at that point just couldn't (wouldn't) see himself giving her more than their casual arrangement, regardless of both their strong feelings. Now though? Seeing her again has made all those same feelings come rushing back, and he's more than ready to take on parenthood with her, and even more significantly, forever, commitment, and love.

I love it when the guy falls first, which is sort of the case here. I say sort of because of their history, when she had feelings he didn't exactly share. But now in their present, he's definitely the one driving the commitment, the need for forever. Skye is deservedly wary of being hurt again, so very understandably she didn't want to commit to anything beyond making a baby. Thank God the ice around her heart was no match for Tripp's determination. The added bonus of some suspense gives this delicious story an edge showcasing Skye's strength and Tripp's protective instincts, leaving me with anticipation for more Dare crossovers.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
