Review / Release Blitz: Nothing But It All by Adriana Locke

What can mend a marriage in trouble? Two meddling kids, one grandfather, and a mischievous puppy.

Nothing But It All by Adriana Locke is now live!

From USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke comes a warm and romantic novel about a marriage in trouble, two conspiring kids, and the meaning of long-lasting love.

After twenty years, the cracks in Lauren Reed’s marriage are showing. She and her husband, Jack, feel more like roommates than a loving couple. What they have in common are two wonderful teenagers, Michael and Maddie, and the same wistful question: When did it all go wrong? Now that Lauren’s decided to get on with her life—alone—divorce is inevitable. Not to the kids. They aren’t giving up so easily.

Michael and Maddie have conspired with their grandfather to bring everyone together for a vacation in the family’s favorite summer getaway, a rustic lakeside cabin in Story Brook, Ohio. Awkward? Yep. A little deceptive? Sure. But as far as traps go, Lauren and Jack agree—the meddlers couldn’t have set one that was more scenic or filled with so many bittersweet memories.

This trip is going to be life-changing for the whole family. Fourteen days of hope, heartbreak, and unexpected possibilities—like maybe falling in love all over again.

MY REVIEW

Lauren and Jack are at a point in their marriage where she's seriously wondering why they're even still married. The spark has gone out and she's teetering on leaving. Then her kids and her father-in-law meddle and now they're stuck together at the family's cabin. All the forced proximity is giving them time to actually communicate. Can they work things out, get on the same page and find the spark that made them fall in love in the beginning? Or have they left it too late to fall back in love?

This is the second marriage in trouble story I've read lately, and both have really made me start liking this trope. I've been married for about the same length of time Lauren and Jack have, and I can only imagine how I would behave if my husband and I were in the same situation as they are. I can see myself, really, any couple who've been married for this long, in them, and appreciate how realistically Adriana drew them. There's so much pain between them, especially in Lauren's behavior, that I despaired that they would ever get past it. Jack was just so freaking clueless, as men are sometimes (often times) and couldn't see what the problem was in their marriage. They are actually very, very lucky their family loved them so much and meddled because I have my doubts they would have fixed things without the push. Though they were supremely frustrating, I love how they slowly started to communicating and righting what had been wrong for so long. I think I'll start reading more troubled marriage stories now, after falling in love with this heartfelt, realistic journey.

She loves connecting with readers, fall weather, football, reading alpha heroes, everything pumpkin, and pretending to garden.

Hailing from a tiny town in the Midwest, Adriana spends her free time with her high school sweetheart (who she married over twenty years ago) and their four sons (who truly are her best work). Her kitchen may be a perpetual disaster, and if all else fails, there is always pizza.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
