Dash rejected Ari's heartfelt offer once upon a time, and she's never quite forgiven him for it. But he's back in their small town for awhile, so she'll have to find a way to be civil at least. After all, he is her best friend's older brother. And he's so darn sweet. And helpful. And gorgeous to boot! But that crush she nursed back then apparently hasn't gone away, even though she knows there's no way this friendship turned more could ever last once he goes back to the bright lights of Hollywood.

Dash knows Cherry Tree Harbor might just be the fix for what ails him, he could bask in his family's comforting welcome and figure out what to do next with his career. He certainly didn't expect Ari to come along and burrow into his heart. He should have, she's his sister's best friend, but she's all grown up now and there's nothing to keep him from her now. Except maybe the fact that he's not here forever, and he knows he cannot break her heart twice. Or his own...

Damn, but these small town heroes Melanie writes are swoony af! Dash is so sweet with his "good girl" Ari, coming to her rescue, helping her and really becoming her rock as they form a steadfast friendship that doesn't take long to heat up. But as much as he's there for her, she is equally there for him. She doesn't realize it, but she's perfect for him, even if she doesn't think so. I want to live in Cherry Tree Harbor myself now, and find a delicious charmer like Dash, and become besties with a sweetheart like Ari now.
