Capri and Elias were college sweethearts. She thought they were staring down the start of forever when he took a job that took him far away from her. But she knew they could do the long distance thing, as long as he did as promised and came back. But one too many broken promises and she's done, so she breaks up with him and moves on. Unfortunately, that didn't go as planned and now she's back home, working for her mom's company, when a blast from the past finagles his way back into her life. Eli plans on claiming the second chance he's been looking for ever since she broke up with him. Will Capri go along with what he wants? Or will she prove to him she's a stubborn, sassy woman, the one he never got over, and make things extremely difficult?

Eli never felt he fit into Capri's luxe life, and had only one focus - work his ass off to become the man who deserved her and could give her the life she was accustomed to with her parents. He may have miscalculated though, because after he broke his promise to her to come back, she lost her trust and faith in him and broke up with him. But he never got over her, never let her out of his life. Now that she's back home with parents, and coming off a broken engagement, he's going to pounce. M. always writes alphas who may or may not be very likable, but thankfully this time, Eli is lovable, bossy though he definitely is. His Capri didn't make their second chance easy to come by, and it was this part that I loved so much about their story. All the snark and the tension wasn't really disguising the love that was obviously still there. But Capri was sassy and didn't trust easily, and wanted to keep her heart intact this time around. Thank God Eli was up to the challenge of winning her back, and he did it in true alpha style - with lots of bossiness, but with his heart on his sleeve.
