One kiss long ago has never left neither Sasha nor Ezra's minds, but they never acted on the feelings behind that kiss. Instead they became best friends, have been there for each other through it all. She stuck by him through his brief relationship that produced the cutest little boy, Gus, and is now not just beloved by Gus, but by his father, too, even though she doesn't know it. But when Sasha finally decides to do something about her crush, will Ezra give in, even knowing it could cost him his found family?

Ezra was a rebellious teen, never feeling like he belonged, but in the time since, he's become a single father, gotten a job as a therapist at Redemption Ranch, and has found a family with the Whiskeys. He's crushed on Sasha Whiskey forever, but never felt good enough for her, even though they've become best friends and she's entwined herself into his life permanently. Not only is there a ban on relationships on the ranch, but he could never let himself be with Sasha - what if he let her in and didn't treat her the way she deserves? He'd never forgive himself if he hurt her in any way.

Oh Ezra...I wanted to just give him a big hug. He couldn't see the good man he really was, couldn't see himself the way Sasha saw him. The brightest part of his life was his adorable son Gus, and he stole every scene he was in, calling Sasha Sugar. Someday that boy is gonna be as swoony as his dad...and then there's sassy, sweet Sasha, she deserved the perfect for her guy that was her best friend. She was his rock, and I was so happy when she finally got through to him (with help from some of the other Whiskeys). I adore them, from their first kiss, to their strong friendship, the way Sasha's family welcomed Ezra into the fold with open arms and gave him a home, and finally to the best of friends becoming everything to each other. The Whiskeys are one of my favorite families in all of fiction, and Sasha, Ezra and Gus made them even more lovable.
