MY REVIEW

Willa's nursed a crush on her sister's best friend, Zander, forever now, but thinks he's gay, and knows he doesn't see her as anything other than his friend's sister. And then there's his friend, Damian, with whom she thinks Zander is in a relationship. Is it possible she has everything wrong?

For most of his life, Zander's focus has been on hockey. Now that he's a rookie, he's determined more than ever to focus on that and only that. His sexuality isn't something he discusses with most people, nor can he in the career he's chosen. So what can he do with the feelings he has for both his fwb, Damian, and his best friend's sister and coach's daughter, Willa? He has to keep everything in the shadows, but perhaps not everything will stay there.

Damian lives a life of luxury and wealth. But he doesn't have the love Willa and Zander have with her family. He never realized he was even looking for it until he finally finds it with both of them, and his new, found family. He finds his place, finally, unexpectedly.

I really like this MMF story. Individually, Zander, Willa and Damian are interesting, likable, and layered, with complementary personalities. As a trio, they're even more likable. The way they worked through their feelings for each other, and decided to come forward with their relationship is probably my favorite part - it highlights the struggles people with unconventional relationships go through, and shows how much each grows by the end. The only slight criticism I have of this otherwise great story is that the heat was lower than I figured it would be, and there wasn't a definite scene with the 3 of them. I wanted more of them all together for it to feel balanced and complete as a threesome. Aside from this one thing, though, the story is pretty great. I can't wait for more of these hockey players falling in love now.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
