Daisy's back to her life after a bad breakup. Selling her cupcakes and charcuterie cups should be just the thing to get her mind back on track. Too bad they're nearly all eaten up by a hot bartender who is absolutely obsessed with having more of them. She won't be giving any of them up unless he pays for them, though, because she needs to think seriously about starting up her culinary dreams, and no sunshiney golden retriever guy is going to derail her from achieving them.
Miles isn't the man he used to be. He's changed and grown, and learned from his past bad behavior. Now he spends his time helping others achieve their business dreams, maintaining his sobriety, and never wanting to burden others with his own issues. Then a black cat Cupcake storms into his world, and he's never the same. He just has to convince Daisy that he only wants to help her, but to do that she has to let him in. Can their fake dating pave the way to a real relationship?
Black cat/golden retriever - surely a better combination could not be found than with Daisy and her cupcake thief Spreadsheet Miles. I love that Miles had grown into a better person by the time he met and fell head over heels for, his very own Cupcake with a grumpy soul. And I especially love that Daisy may have brought a lot of baggage into their relationship, but Miles took it all on and rolled with it, being the non-judgmental rock she needed and deserved. I didn't realize how much I had been looking forward to Miles' story until I read it, and I am so glad I got to read it and fall in love with him, Daisy, and their found family.
