Review / Release Blitz: The Southern Thirst Trap (Southern Gods #3) by Adrian R. Hale

The Southern Thirst Trap by Adrian R. Hale is now live!

HARLOWE
The name Zander Olsen is synonymous with no repeats, no attachments, and pursuing beautiful women he leaves in the dust after he's conquered them. I knew his rules going into our arrangement. I shouldn't have thought I'd be any different. Yet, we somehow discovered something amazing together during our tropical vacation that changed my life forever. I thought it changed him, too. Instead, he told me forever was a lie and thoroughly blocked me from his life the second we returned. Why is he back now? And what gives him the right to be so interested in my son after all this time? Zander is the one man who has the power to ruin my life and I won't let him do that to me again, even if my body wants to betray me every time he gets close.

ZANDER
Harlowe Sorenson is the only woman I was willing to break my rules for, and in the end, it burned us both. I put my career and the growth of Olympus International first in my life, so I can't let women stick around long enough to distract me from that goal, not even one as vivacious, challenging, and captivating as her. Falling for Harlowe wasn't in my plans, so I cut out my heart and crushed hers thoroughly to ensure she wouldn't be a problem. I'd almost forgotten about her. So why, after crashing into her five years later, am I still drawn to her and have too many questions about her carefully guarded son? A son who looks more like me than he should. I need to get these answers without risking my business, my heart, and hers in the process, or I'll have hell to pay once again.

MY REVIEW

Zander's a manwhore, plainly speaking. He doesn't usually have to chase women, nor does he stick around or do repeats, but Harlowe's different. He wants her so badly that he actually asks her to spend a couple weeks with him. They go, they have a lot of fun, and feelings develop on both sides. But he doesn't do attachments, so once they get back to reality, he ghosts and blocks her, and moves on with his life, leaving Harlowe to figure out how to move on herself. Now let's not be hasty, Zander may have blocked her, but that doesn't mean he hasn't thought of her plenty in the years since their fling. Now she's back in his orbit thanks to her social media posts, and Zander's really thinking of finding her again. Will she give him the time of day? And what of that adorable son of hers who just may be his too?

Harlowe's learned how to love herself since Zander ghosted her. She's had to in order to be the best mother she can be. She may not have been enough to keep a playboy like Zander, but she's damn sure enough for her son, and she's not about to let the man who tried to break her, come along and do it again, and risk hurting her son. So she'll let Zander into their son's life, but he's not getting back into her heart. Is he? He's the one who told her forever was a lie, so why's he trying to say otherwise now?

I gotta get this out of the way in the beginning - I cannot stand Zander. Harlowe and her adorable son are enough to lift this from 3 to 3.5, rounded up to 4 stars. But Zander is awful, a shameless playboy who knowingly hurt Harlowe because he was a selfish prick. I never thought he deserved a second chance with Harlowe, but she loved him, and the heart wants what it wants. The story itself is great, though, with serious chemistry, and an excellent heroine in Harlowe, and the cutest little boy.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
