There's a new mechanic in town.
Dom Salvatore.

Tall, serious, intense. A loner.
Exactly what he wants to be.
Until he meets her.
Cherry Gallagher.
Independent. Stubborn. Sexy as hell.
And not interested.
Or is she?
What happens when two lonely people open up and discover there is more to life than being alone?
When the sparks they feel become an inferno they can't control?
When they discover the best part of each other is what they were missing?
Can they handle the full throttle of love?

Author's Note: Join this found family in the final story set in the small town of Littleburn, Ontario, Canada. Where this group of blue-collar heroes learn to love fiercely the strong women in their lives.

MY REVIEW

Dom took one look at the woman by Hannah and was fascinated, but Cherry seemingly didn't feel the same fascination with him. Or didn't she? The more he chases her, the faster she runs away. Until she doesn't and she finally gives in and admits that she can't resist his dirty talk, his intense protective vibes, his rock steady sureness.

Cherry has been alone a long time, with only her daughter as her focus. But Hannah's definitely an adult now, and has started her own relationship. Might it be time for her to look to her future, find love with someone? She wasn't expecting Dom, and she's so scared of giving in and giving him a chance to break the heart that was already broken once. But his persistence is leaving her no choice but to finally take that leap. She can only hope her heart will survive!

I love the family Melanie has created in the Reynold's Restoration crew. Dom is the last to finally find the one, and I am so glad it ends up being Cherry. They've both experienced pain and loss in their lives, and aren't looking for a relationship or love. Dom knows what he wants (Cherry) as soon as he sees her, but she takes much longer to admit he's the one. Then the chase is on, and boy is it delicious as Dom woos her and she slowly caves to the inevitable. I'm going to miss this series and this found family, but if it must end, at least Melanie saved the best for last.

Title: The Challenge: A Single Dad Romance Author: Penelope Ward Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance Tropes: Single Dad, Second Chance, Forced Proximity Friends to Lovers, Small Town, Found Family Release Date: August 30, 2026 BLURB From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward comes a new, STANDALONE contemporary romance… Nothing says welcome home like accidentally moving in with your first heartbreak…and his little girl. Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...

You TV series

Wow, hubby and I watched You on Lifetime last night. It was creepy and suspenseful. Hubby likened it to Dexter , and I have to agree. Penn Badgley was on point - creepy, stalkery, but fascinating. I didn't think too much of Elizabeth Lail's acting, but I'm not sure if it was just that her character was bland, or if it was truly bad acting. Can't wait for next week!
