Review / Release Blitz: One String (Lighter Ones) by Aleatha Romig

ONE STRING
Aleatha Romig
Release Date: July 4

Second-chance, enemies-to-lovers, fake-date, little-sister’s-best-friend, forbidden, stand-alone contemporary romance.

Ricky Dunn is the equivalent to a splinter under my fingernail.
Romantic?
Right.
He’s the older brother of my best friend, and no matter how hard either of us try, we can’t seem to avoid each other. The problem started on the night my best friend and I graduated from high school. The party was joyous, a celebration. That night, I willingly gave Ricky a part of me—more than the kiss we told others about.
Our deal was simple.
No strings.
Ricky kept his side of the bargain.
Years have passed.
Being from the same small town and crossing paths, I haven’t noticed how handsome he’s become or the way he’s filled out. If you ask me, he hasn’t noticed me either.
Until he calls.
I’m working for a finance company, one he’s now interviewing for.
“Marilyn, will you be my date for the dinner with the partners? It’s only for one date and no strings.”
The problem is my heart hasn’t kept my side of our bargain.
I want at least one string.
Do I agree to his proposal, or do I turn him down flat?

Have you been Aleatha’d?

Check out Aleatha’s 2024 Lighter One—ONE STRING—second-chance, enemies-to-lovers, fake-date, little-sister’s-best-friend, forbidden, stand-alone contemporary romance.

MY REVIEW

Marilyn has moved on (kind of) from the time Ricky broke her heart. Since then she's not spent it moping, no, she's become a success, and it's that success that brings Ricky back to her. Unwanted by Marilyn, at first. But when her sleazy ex pisses her off, she has to agree to help Ricky. Now all that forced proximity is either going to finally allow Ricky to explain himself and have the second chance he wants, or finally push Marilyn away for good.

Back when he broke her heart, Ricky felt justified. He hadn't realized a very important fact, and their age gap was significant at the time. Now though, the gap isn't important. Although he originally contacted her with a proposal that she help him get a job at her firm, he's starting to realize what he could have with her is far more important than a job.

I like these lighter stories by Aleatha. Marilyn and Ricky's story is a sweet one. They have serious chemistry, and worked through their issues with not too much angst - all in all a lighthearted, heartwarming story of forgiveness and second chances.

Blog Tour & Review: The Billionaire's Fake Fiancée by Annika Martin

The Billionaire's Fake Fiancée by Annika Martin Release Date: April 28th The Billionaire's Fake Fiancée, a sexy romantic comedy by New York Times bestselling author Annika Martin. I’m no Prince Charming, and the last thing I want is a Cinderella. My instructions were simple: scour the city for a fake fiancée who’s not my type at all. Have her on my jet Monday morning, dressed appropriately for a yacht vacation. I need a woman believable enough to convince a certain client that I’ve changed my playboy ways…yet nothing like the supermodels and socialites I usually have on my arm. Somebody too annoying to tempt me—no emotional entanglements, thank you very much. This is business only. If she’s unfazed by my looks and wealth, all the better. Should be easy. Right? Apparently not, because my people go and hire Tabitha. My hairdresser. What were they thinking? Yes, I said annoying, but I didn’t mean her, the most frustrating woman in the world. Tabitha is sunshiny. She has a pet ha...
