Annie Bang

I’m thrilled to be working in professional hockey, since my five brothers are all hockey players. My new role as skating coach to the New York Bears is the perfect fit and I can’t wait to whip all these guys into shape so we can win more games. Except one of the guys is Logan Coates—the guy who sent my brother to the hospital in a memorable game three seasons ago. I want nothing to do with him.

Logan Coates

I don’t need some tiny figure skater telling me what to do. I know how to skate. I wouldn’t be in the NHL if I didn’t. Although, I am a fourth liner. I do want more ice time. I want to make a difference on the team. But learning how to figure skate isn’t it. Especially from Annie Bang, who hates my guts. Speaking of guts…she has ’em. She’s a pint-sized badass. And that’s sexy as hell. When I’m around her, my skate blade’s not the only thing made of steel.

MY REVIEW

Annie Bang has lived her entire life in her famous hockey god brothers' shadows, but now's the time she's going to step out from behind and live her life for herself, her mother and brothers' wishes be damned. Unfortunately, the feelings she's developed are for one of her new charges, the man who put one of her brothers in the hospital after a dirty play. Can she deny her feelings to save upsetting her family? Is Logan really the bad guy they all think he is?

Logan's determined to move up the line on his hockey team, the Bears. But learning how to skate better?! He's not sure, OK, he knows, that's not the answer. Or isn't it? Even though his new coach is Annie Bang, sister of a guy he accidentally put in the hospital, and even though she hates him, he's finding her coaching successful. And now the two are developing a friendship turning more, and he's not about to do anything to jeopardize that, will even hide it if that's what she wants. But when their hearts are on the line, will he make that shot, or skate out of her life when he can't handle the heat of his father's endless nagging and her family's disapproval?

Oh these two! I just wanted to give them both big, big hugs. Logan was so not who Annie and her family had thought he was. And he was more than even he had thought he was, and finally stood up to his dad. Thank God Annie realized it too and became Logan's rock, even when it looked like the two of them weren't going to work out as a couple. And poor Annie, she had been in the shadows of her family for so long, and they didn't even realize it. She's so much stronger than they had ever thought, though, and was able to carve out her own niche in the world, and even found the love of her life while doing it. Mama Bang was at it again, but I have to say this time she had things all wrong for 99% of the time, and for the first time, I was upset with her. Thankfully, Annie set her and Annie's brother's straight, and things righted in their world. There's one final brother left to fall in love and I am dying of impatience for Tanner and Maeve's story (Hook ’em Hard) to finally arrive on my Kindle!

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
