Lewis may have left his small hometown for college (and left his first and only love too) but now he's feeling a bit homesick. He has an offer to stay in London and begin his career there, but the calling of home, family, and love may be too strong for him to resist.
Callie Ironside always knew her future lay with her childhood sweetheart, first love, Lewis Adair. But it seems he wasn't quite as sure of that as she, and he walked away years ago. She stayed in Ardnoch, then went to culinary school in Paris, but has been back and working at her and her mom's bakery, ever since. A chance, well maybe not chance, reunion, in London seemed to be the start of their second chance. Or is it? Now Lewis has to decide if he really wants that chance. If so, London or back home?
Oh my heart! This second chance couple had my heart from the very first page. Actually, from their first mentions in Lewis' (There With You) and Callie's (Beyond the Thistles) parents' stories. That this is a second gen made me love them even more, as much (or more) as I love their parents. It was obvious that there was no way they wouldn't make their way back to each other, even if they took a long, obstacle filled journey to get there. I could feel their chemistry, and more importantly, their love, even as teens, and the years since had only strengthened their connection. Their parents were there for support, guidance, and love, and I really, really loved Callie's mom Sloane even more as her relationship with Callie showed its strength, even through everything they had been through. Samantha's Scots are some of my favorite hot Scots, and now I'm even more excited to read Lewis' sister Eilidh's story - I hope it's next.
