Briar's coming back home, and not thrilled to find out she has to room with her former high school crush, now the guy she hates most in this world. But with enough close proximity, she just may find that Emmett isn't the bad guy she had thought. And he might even be the sweetest guy who'll come to mean the most to her.
Emmett's spent his whole life portraying an image that isn't really true. He's let his family think he's just carefree and without a passion for anything. But he wants to be taken seriously and start his own business with his family's backing and approval. Then Briar comes back home and completely turns everything upside down. Once he finds out her big secret, and why she's hated him all these years, he knows he'll do everything he can to redeem himself and be there for her in every way.
Briar and Emmett are so sweet, and funny together. Their banter, and the way Emmett kept flirting, only to get shut down every single time had me smirking the whole time. The tension was there too, though, and I was waiting impatiently for them to finally give in. When they did, whew! I had been impatiently waiting for Emmett's story, and it did not disappoint. I think he's my favorite brother so far. Can't wait for the next story now.
