My name is Nia Washington. I'm a submissive. And I am f***ing tired.
I’m tired of men that claim to be a Dominant, but have no clue what it really means. I'm tired of men playing a part they saw on TV or read in a book, and using it to get what they want out of a woman before leaving her high and dry. I'm tired of men who don't know a single thing about boundaries, and I'm tired of them using BDSM as an excuse to abuse women. I'm tired of men that can't even take care of themselves, but claim to be able to take care of a submissive. I am so f***ing tired.
I'm also tired of the way my new boss looks at me when we’re at the office—the way he fixes his intimidating gaze on me and pins me in place with just a look. I’m tired of the perfect way his clothes fit his body, the exquisite way he grooms himself, and how everyone in the office moves out of his way like they're afraid, while also craving his approval and praise. I'm tired of the way he is the perfect example of everything I have been looking for in a Dom for far too long, and I'm so very tired of him not being mine.
I know he has secrets—a painful past that has hardened his heart—and I know he needs to heal from wounds no one can see. But if there was a checklist on how to be the perfect Dom, he would check every box. We’ve both been through far too much, but the way we fit together is too perfect to ignore. Now all I need to know is if he's as tired as I am of being alone.

MY REVIEW
Nia has been searching for so long for a true Dom, but has just about given up. The men she's been meeting may SAY they're Dominant, but when push comes to shove, they're so not even close. Then her new boss strides into her life and her heart, and Rome's everything she's been yearning for. But he has so much damage left on his soul from a past loss, that she might just have to take what she can get from him, which isn't everything, because he cannot love another woman, ever. Or so he says...
Rome's world has been thrown off kilter ever since he laid eyes on one of his newest employees, Nia. He knows she's submissive, but he can't touch her. Fraternizing with an employee in the company he just bought is not a good way to start off. But he can't resist her any longer. Do they stand a chance in hell with a forbidden relationship that can't possibly be, because of his baggage?
My heart! I know, I know...normally BDSM fiction does not get to me in the heart the way Rome and Nia's story did. He had so much pain in his heart and it had left him cold for so long, that he didn't know what to do when Nia started making him feel again. I wanted to give the big ol Dom a big ol hug when his backstory started coming out. I loved his character, but it's Nia I really fell for. Her character is so strong, just searching high and low for the Dom and man she wanted. Then she found him in a man whose soul was so scarred that she feared he'd never be able to give her what she deserved, what he deserved. This is the first story by this author that I've read, but after this, I'm a fan for life!
