She hates me…

I’m going to make her fall in love with me anyway.

As captain of the SoCal Vipers, the last couple of seasons haven’t been going well. My stats are slipping, and I’m at risk of being traded.

So, I’m not in the mood for a case of mistaken identity with the woman playing bouncer at the arena door.

But when I find out she’s come to town to escape her controlling family and make a fresh start, I know I can’t just let her walk away.

I’ll do anything to make sure she’s safe.

And if that means claiming her forever…then all the better.

Because she’s mine.

Even if she doesn’t know it yet.

When the Game Breakers meet more than hearts will be broken…
They’ll claim, protect, and...maybe just rock their women's worlds.

Series tropes include:
• enemies to lovers
• mistaken identity
• starting over
• rags to riches
• protective MMCs
• found family

MY REVIEW

Banks isn't used to people, especially women, not recognizing him, but this spitfire is most certainly not impressed by him, nor does she recognize he's the captain of the hockey team whose venue she apparently works at. Then he sees her again at his club and he doesn't even recognize her this time. What he does know is he's drawn to her, so much that he's risking his friends' laughing at him while losing their bet that she'll even give him the time of the day. Nope. No matter, he's persistent, and determined, and in the throes of insta something. He knows he's got his work cut out for him because her walls are stronger than Fort Knox.

Aspen finally left her horrible family behind, and has been working her ass off here to make ends meet, when a p i t a hockey player skates into her life and won't leave. She resists him as long as she can but even her strong defenses can only last so long in the face of his charming persistence. For the first time in her life she's able to trust and rely on someone other than herself. If she was able to let go of her baggage, Banks certainly should be able to also, when the unexpected happens. If he can't, then all his determination to become a part of her life will have been for nothing.

Aspen and Banks are the cutest couple. He has to be one of the swooniest hockey players I've read in a long time - so sweet, so determined to take care of Aspen even though she resists for the longest time. And Aspen, my God she'd had a rough go of it but it had made her so strong and independent. I wanted to cry when it looked as if they weren't going to make it, but thankfully they took their baggage and threw it out the window. Aspen, Banks and their found family have me seriously excited for all their stories now. Rockstar Royal's story is next and it can't be here soon enough.

Review: Waiting for You by Kate McBrien

Review of Waiting for You by Kate McBrien Justin and Lucy are apart, but for how long? Lucy's staying with her parents, but knows she needs to get out and start living her life again. But when she gets a chance to go to London, it just may be her chance to reunite with the man whose soul has been entwined with hers for centuries upon centuries. But first, our two fated lovers will have to not only reunite, but stay together, beat the odds and the people and/or forces who are trying to keep them apart. Waiting for You is a great followup to Discovering You. Justin and Lucy's story is exciting and passionate, and the mystical/fantasy/paranormal aspect just adds another interesting layer to their already wonderful connection. I normally don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy/sci-fi romance anymore, but I loved it here in Waiting for You. It's subtle, but ever present and as I said, just makes their story all the more intriguing. I can't wait for the conclusio...
