THE BIG SKATE
Elise Faber
Release Date: December 26

I’ve sworn off love…until her.
The only problem? She can’t stand me.

Gorgeous, single mom Ivy wants absolutely nothing to do with me.

She thinks I’m a player—and maybe I am.

She thinks I don’t take anything seriously—and maybe I don’t.

She thinks I can never make her happy—but I’ve never been more focused on anything else. Not ever. Not even on hockey, and I live and breathe the sport.

She doesn’t understand that she’s become my reason for existing—

That if there’s any game in my life I’m willing to do anything to win…

It’s claiming her heart as mine.

MY REVIEW

Knox doesn't know why his hockey team's physical trainer, Ivy, can't stand him, but those feelings she has are definitely the complete opposite of his. So he keeps his distance but watches over her, fascinated despite her very obvious "keep back" signs. Until the day her adorable daughter needs him. From then on, there is no way he can keep his distance, and Ivy will just have to deal because Knox isn't going anywhere now.

A strong single mom whose life had been anything but easy, and a big, commitment-phobe hockey player don't sound as if they'd make a good match, but Knox and Ivy are an amazing couple in every way! She really only kept him at a distance because of the way he made her feel and because the men in her life had made everything so much worse for her. She didn't realize that behind Knox's commitment-phobe persona was a kind, loving man who had his own pain. I wanted to hug them both, and was cheering them on as they got to know who the other was behind their masks, and I fell so hard for Ivy's adorable, glitter loving daughter. Knox's found family/team welcomed Ivy and Evie and gave them the family they so desperately deserved and needed, and I couldn't help but shed a few tears as they got the happiness and love they worked so hard for.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
