There’s a storm coming… and he’s not taking no for an answer.

Life has dealt Kasi one blow after another. Following her mother’s untimely death, her family implodes, leaving her alone to run the farm. Fatigue and stress have become her new best friends, every day passing in a blur of work, work, and more work. When Levi Storm, her lifelong crush, keeps her from face-planting due to exhaustion, she’s mortified…and more than a little bit turned on.

A person could set a clock by Levi’s daily routine, right down to his afternoon trip to the Mills’ farm market to buy one of Kasi’s delicious pies. He’s known Kasi her entire life, so when the beautiful young woman faints in front of him, coming to in his arms, Levi is stunned by the sudden realization that she’s meant to be his, and he’s prepared to move heaven and earth to claim her.

Kasi should at least try to shake the sexy new six foot five shadow she’s acquired, but Levi’s much-needed help around the farm, his comfort as she struggles with grief, and his breath-stealing kisses are reigniting the hope and happiness she’s lost. Until reality crashes in again, forcing her to choose between the dominant, possessive, amazing man who makes her heart race and her family’s beloved farm.

MY REVIEW

Kasi's life now consists of running the family farm. Her mother passed and her father and brother have checked out, leaving all the responsibility on her shoulders. All that weight is pressing down on her so much that she almost crumbles in front of her longtime crush and best friend's much older cousin, Levi. Surprisingly, Levi seems intent on...helping her? Shadowing her? Whatever he's doing is wreaking havoc on her already stretched to breaking state of mind. Is it possible Levi's finally noticed her after all these years of just seeing her as his cousin's friend?

Levi took one look at Kasi and it was as if he'd never seen her before. His new feelings are instant, and he's hell bent on showing her they're meant to be. She's been carrying one hell of a load since her mother passed, and he wants to relieve her of it. She can let go of all of her stress, and he'll take care of her, in and out of the bedroom. And along the way, he'll convince her that she's safe, her heart is safe, in his hands.

I love it when an alpha falls first, and never wavers from what (who) he wants. That's the case with Levi and Kasi. The blinders were off finally and he just knew Kasi was meant to be his. Convincing her of that took a bit more work, but he was definitely up for the challenge, in all kinds of deliciously dominating ways. Kasi deserved the world and Levi was the perfect partner to do that. All he wanted to do is love her, she just had to choose to let him. I know this is the start of a new series, now I'm excitedly waiting for Theo and Gretchen's story, Shelter from the Storm.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
