Review: Obsession (Smoke & Glass #1) by Taryn Quinn

Obsession, the first installment of the Smoke & Glass duet by Taryn Quinn is NOW LIVE!

Obsession. Possession. Murder.
I grew up as the illegitimate son on the wrong side of the tracks. Until an angel I could never repay helped me climb to the top.

My new assistant, Grace Copeland, is determined to bring me down. She thinks I don't know about her lies and the risks she's taking, but I've been watching all this time.

Watching her.

Soon she’ll realize that being on top is where I belong—and where she’ll beg me to be.

Author’s note: this formerly 6 part serial, The Boss, written by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott, has been lightly re-edited and condensed into two full books, now called Obsession and Possession by Taryn Quinn. Obsession is the first half of Blake and Grace’s story and ends on a cliffhanger. Possession is part two of their story and ends with a HEA, plus a brand new 2025 epilogue.

MY REVIEW

Grace has to do something to get her grandma's house back. If she has to take on the town's reclusive billionaire to do it, then so be it. She didn't count on being so attracted to Blake, though, or to give into their chemistry so quickly. Now she's stuck with the man she's lying to, and falling for at the same time. She can't tell him the truth, can she?

Blake knows who Grace is, knows she's been lying to him since she finagled her way into the position of his assistant. He's waiting for her to tell him the truth, while lying to her at the same time, keeping his own secrets. A relationship based on lies has no chance of surviving, especially if what happens during the cliffhanger is a sign of what's to come.

Back when Obsession was first published as a serial called The Boss, it's what first drew me to Cari and Taryn's writing. Back then, I loved it, it was sexy and intense, and I was anxiously awaiting each installment as soon as I finished the previous one. Now with a small edit, I can safely say Obsession is even better - it's even more sexy and intense and I love Grace and Blake. AND I don't have to wait so long for the conclusion, so I'm a very satisfied reader, while still being really impatient for Possession.

Review: Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette (American Revolutionary Tales 2) by Regina Kammer

Review of Winter Interlude: An American Revolutionary Novelette by Regina Kammer Captain Samuel Taylor and Lieutenant Patrick Hamilton recall their first steamy encounter, which was a MFM threesome in a brothel. It morphed into more and now the two are contemplating their futures with the women they love, and their futures with each other. If you think times are hard for the LGBT community now, think of how hard they were during the American Revolution. Winter Interlude is well developed, which is surprising given its short length. I am so interested in knowing what is to become of Samuel and Patrick's forbidden relationship. Do they stay together? Or do they go their separate ways, and live out their lives with their women? Now that they've admitted their love for each other, how impossible would it be for them to be without each other? I have to know, now! If you like MM fiction and/or historical fiction, I highly recommend you give Winter Interlude a read. It...
