Worth is fascinated by Sophia from the very first time he lays eyes on her. He wants to get to know her but it's clear his friends want to set Sophia up with one of their other friends, Fisher. But when it becomes clear Fisher isn't interested, it's his sign to do something about the connection they're both feeling. They are in Vegas, the spontaneous wedding capital of the world, so why not? Now he just has to convince Sophia they're meant to be and should stay married.
Sophia cannot help but be drawn to Worth. There's something so innately good about him and she wants more. But when a horrible revelation is dropped on her and her brothers during a visit, it makes her already strong walls even stronger. If she wants her spontaneous marriage to work, she'll need to allow herself to be vulnerable with him and give him a chance to claim her heart.
I have to admit secret, spontaneous marriages can be an iffy trope to write well, but of course Louise has more than enough writing chops to pull this one off, flawlessly, with heart, and so much heat that I was swooning and fanning my face at the same time. Worth is a billionaire angel investor of sorts, calm and stoic even, but with such a loving heart. He took one look at Sophia and knew she was the one. That's why the secret wedding felt organic and perfect for this couple. Sophia may have taken the long way around to get to the same conclusion Worth did, but I felt for her when her family life fell apart on her. Kudos to her for handling it the way she did, mostly with grace, a little bit of running, and in the end, they were inevitable. The billionaires in Worth's circle are amazing, I cannot wait for the next one to fall head over heels.
