Everly does not want to be here in her hometown of Rose, TN, but she received an invite to the annual Kiss Lottery, and for her podcast, she'll put herself through this torture. She just has to hope fate doesn't match her with her awful ex, Beckett, the man who wrote her as a villain in his novel. Yep. THAT ex.
Beckett had his reasons for pushing away Everly in such a terrible way back then. And he's suffered for those reasons, every second since she looked at him with so much pain in her eyes, then left town. Now she's back. And if it's the last thing he does, he will convince her to forgive him, and maybe even give him a second chance to claim her heart.
Everly and Beckett are so much fun. She's sassy af, and doesn't really want to be back home facing her ex. Luckily for him, Beckett's got people on his side - all the quirky, gossipy residents of Rose, and that one little thing, love. It took them awhile, and a painful walk down memory lane, but they managed to forgive and find their happiness again. I wanted him to grovel a lot more, but I think he had probably suffered enough knowing he was the idiot who pushed her get away. Valentine's is just a few days away, and this funny, lighthearted rom-com filled with heart, and delicious tension, is just the thing to get me ready for it.
