BLURB

Was it considered stalking if the woman you were stalking liked the idea of being stalked?

It started out like any other job.

My brother, the head of the Russian Mafia, wanted me to delete an opponent. Like the good brother I was, I decided to give him what he wanted.

In doing so, I ended up finding a woman that made my cold, dead heart start to beat again.

One day while doing some reconnaissance on my target, I happen to overhear Keely telling her friend one of her darkest fantasies, and I decide that I’d be the one fulfilling that particular craving for her.

I tell myself that it’s only once. I’d give in to that darkness inside of me once, and I’ll leave her alone from then on. Except, once turns into twice. And twice turns into way too many to count.

Just when I plan to cut all ties so she doesn’t start to develop feelings for a killer, I find out that Keely doesn’t have just one stalker. She has two. And the one that wasn’t me wanted her dead, and I couldn’t allow that to happen.

Not to her.

Not to the woman that not only chased my demons away, but also didn’t care that I had them in the first place.

MY REVIEW

Dima has been low key obsessed with Keely ever since he saw her during one of his jobs for his brother, Shasha. The term stalker might have his name under the definition. But it's when he finds out she's just as broken inside as he, that he realizes he's going to make her his, forever.

When she meets Dima, Keely recognizes in him a kindred spirit. She can't help but be drawn to him, to the pain she sees in him so like her own. She can't be too crazy for him, nothing about her will make him think she's too much like in her past. And nothing about her thinks he's too much. They're perfect for each other, with all their damage on display for each other to see, to love.

I knew I was going to love Dima's story, but I had no idea how much. And that little factor that made me love it even more than I thought I would? Keely. She's the yin to his yang and all that. She's his soulmate - two more perfect for each other people don't exist. He's crazy but so is she, in all the good kinds of ways. Their families are up to their usual funny, if slightly overprotective, shenanigans, providing laughs, but the love they all share is apparent. The ending wraps up not just Keely and Dima's story, but the series as a whole, in a sweet way. This series has been so much fun to read, and I'm going to miss the Semyonovs and the people they love.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...
