Sullivan Murdock: The Steadfast

What do a failing business, a kid who doesn’t really know me due to no fault of my own, and falling for my former best friend’s ex-wife add up to?

It shouldn’t be an incredible proposal on camera to the woman of my dreams in a viral moment, but it was.

Let me back up.

Nora Baker was the one that got away. She didn’t know it, but I sure did.

In high school, we were in the same friend group because she was dating my best friend.

The rules are, you don’t poach. And I didn’t.

But then he fkd up and let her go.

I won’t be making the same mistake.

Even if my life is hot mess of chaos, I will be making it work come hell or high water.

This single dad never thought he'd get the girl of his dreams, but Indigo Valley is full of hope and new starts. And this one wild life deserves the best love stories. The Murdock Brothers fall hard and fast, but a scorching HOT happily ever after is guaranteed.

These are quick stories served best with a glass of wine or a cup of tea before bed. Or if you’re feeling extra spicy, you can read one of these books on your lunch break!

MY REVIEW

Nora's back in her small hometown after her marriage drifted apart. When her landlord calls in someone to fix the water leak and it turns out to be Sullivan "Sully" Murdock, her body and mind suddenly wake up. And when she films him fixing the leak while shirtless, and posts it to SM, not only does his business start booming, she and Sully's attraction is too. She and Sully grew up in the same circle - she was dating (then married) his best friend, so it's quite inconvenient to suddenly start feeling something for him. But she's divorced and starting over, so why shouldn't she and Sully be allowed to feel something for each other?

Nora never knew, but Sully had feelings for her in high school. She was off-limits, though, because she was dating his best friend. That best friend treated her horribly, and now she's back. Sully's not about to let her get away this time, he's not stupid like his best friend. Nora helped his business go viral, his son is bonding with her, and Sully's looking at forever with her now.

Though short, Sully and Nora's story is an excellent start to the Murdock Brothers' series. Nora is adorable, Sully's yummy (abs anyone?!), and their timing is finally perfect for them to fall in love. The Murdock Brothers are delicious, I can't wait for the next one to fall in love now when Kai falls in love with his best friend's sister Lexi in Make Me Stay.

Review: One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti

Review of One Little Lie by Whitney Barbetti ONE LITTLE LIE Hollis is a good girl with a crush on a broody musician. Unfortunately, that boy, Adam, hates her. Why? Because the chip on his shoulder leaves him thinking good girl, rich girl Hollis is a lemming like everyone else in their small town. Which makes it even more unfortunate when years after their high school encounter, Hollis' best friend tries to stick up for her and ends up telling her parents that Adam is the the boyfriend Hollis doesn't actually have. Oops. How will Hollis ever convince Adam to go along with her little lie? I really liked One Little Lie. Hollis is a really naive girl, but she has such a huge heart that I couldn't help but fall in love with her spirit. She's so sweet, so compassionate, the kind of person this world needs more of. Adam, on the other hand, eh, he didn't do much for me. His chip on the shoulder, broody asshole attitude did nothing to endear me to him, but because H...

Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings. Instead, I somehow ended up living in Evan Ricci’s house. The single dad now owned a bunch of properties and one of them was the place I’d rented. He’d taken it off the market and moved in before I got there. I just never got the memo. Unfortunately, there was no other place in town available, so Evan let me stay. Evan—the guy my parents took in years a...
